Police search Irthlingborough house after tip-off about possible cannabis factory

Police found equipment which could be used in the production of cannabis following a tip-off from a member of the public.

Officers visited the property in Merefields, Irthlingborough, on Monday (June 15) after concerns were raised that it might be being used as a cannabis factory.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "We were contacted by a member of the public who was concerned that a property was being used as a possible cannabis factory.

"Officers visited the address in Merefields, Irthlingborough on Monday morning and found equipment which could be potentially used in the production of cannabis, however no cannabis plants or seedlings were found inside the address."

The spokesman added that no arrests have been made in relation to it.

A tweet from East Northants Police Team following the discovery said: "We've had really good results recently all down to community intelligence - if you see anything suspicious, report it."

Anyone with information can call the police on 101.
