Police reveal the Wellingborough hotspots where they are targeting motorbike nuisance

Police have revealed the areas of Wellingborough where they are cracking down on motorbike nuisance.

Motorbikes being driven anti-socially is not only dangerous, but can make life a misery for those who have to put up with the noise associated with it.

Officers in Wellingborough are working hard to put a stop to the anti-social behaviour blighting parts of the town, but they need the public's help in identifying those responsible for it.

Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Chris Stevens said: "Predominantly we are looking at the Queensway and Croyland areas of the town.

"In these areas we are having difficulties in the parks and open spaces as well as the roads and this is where our biggest focus is going to be at present.

"As with a lot of things, we rely on reports from members of the public to highlight where these issues are taking place.

"What we’re asking is for people to get in touch with us when they see motorcycle nuisance as it helps us build a picture and therefore more able to take action."

Anyone who sees any motorbike nuisance is asked to note down as much detail as possible, including the registration of the vehicle, a description of the rider and the manner in which they were riding the motorbike, time and location.

And Sgt Stevens added: "Where we can identify vehicles and riders acting in an anti-social manner, Northamptonshire Police will not hesitate to instigate enforcement proceedings which ultimately can lead to vehicles being seized and crushed and the riders prosecuted.

"Everyone is entitled to enjoy parks and open spaces free from the fear of vehicle nuisance.

"We accept that at times, identifying and prosecuting the offenders for this type of offence is challenging however we remain committed to stamping out the scourge of inconsiderate and anti-social vehicle nuisance."
