Police identify large group of anti-social youths in Kettering

Police in Kettering have identified between 30 to 40 teenagers who have been engaging in anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
More than 50 anti-social behaviour letters have been sent to the youths since Christmas and one 14-year-old boy was handed a criminal behaviour order in court.

Hide AdA spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "A group of 30-40 young people ranging from aged 13 to 17 have been creating a nuisance in and around the Market Street and Lower Street areas of Kettering.
"They have been intimidating and threatening members of the public as well as staff in McDonald's and Morrisons.
"They also pulled the baubles off the Christmas tree over the Christmas period."
Police worked with schools to identify the individuals.
Anti-social behaviour warning letters have been sent and one 14-year-old boy was given a criminal behaviour order in court.

Hide AdOn Twitter, the Kettering Police Team said they have sent more than 50 warning letters since Christmas and the community have noticed the reduction in anti-social behaviour.
An officer said the incidents had been brought to police attention though social media rather than it being reported to police.
Northamptonshire Police said it encourages the community to report anti-social behaviour in the future as the force will be able to deal with it quicker.
