Police hunt underway after man spat in woman’s face in Northampton

A 27-year-old woman was walking along Wellingborough Road in the direction of Palmerston Road between 11am and 11:30am on Wednesday September 30 when the incident happened.

She reached the Fiddlers public house when a man approached her and spat in her face. He then ran off towards the town centre.

The woman crossed the road to Tesco, where she called the police.

The offender is described as a black man in his early 40s, about five foot and seven inches, of a small build and was bald. He was wearing a grey rain coat style jacket.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have captured the assault on either CCTV or dash cam footage.”
