Police hunt thug who punched woman twice and left her bleeding in Northampton park

Detectives are hunting a thug who punched a woman in the face and left her bleeding in a sickening attack in Northampton parkland on Saturday afternoon.

A man "in his late-30s or early-40s" punched the victim twice while she was walking her dog in Upton Country Park, causing a swollen nose and a cut mouth.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The woman was out between 3.50pm and 4.10pm on Saturday (November 28) when she came across a man being abusive to another man, who was also walking a dog.

"As the woman drew closer to the two men, the offender threw a bottle of water at her dog. She confronted him but he then punched her twice to the face causing a swollen nose and a cut to her mouth before walking off in the direction of Kislingbury."

Police say the attacker is white, well-built and was wearing a plain grey T-shirt, green and black tracksuit and black trainers. He had a local accent.
