Police hunt children aged 14 and 15 following sex attack in Northampton park

Police are hunting two gangs of schoolkids who sexually assaulted during a surprise attack a woman in her 50s in a Northampton park.

The teenagers — all believed to be aged 14 and 15 — tried to grab the shocked woman then slapped her during a mid-afternoon walk in Upton Country Park.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The victim was walking along the footpath towards Upton Valley Way East between 2.55pm and 3.15pm on Tuesday, September 29, when she was approached by a group of males.

"One of them has attempted to grab her, however, the woman continued to walk on.

"She was then approached by a second group of males, however this time, one of the males slapped her on the buttocks. Again, the woman continued to walk on.

"The offenders were aged between 14 and 15 years old."

Officers investigating the incident are calling for anyone who may have seen the gangs of boys or has any information to call on 101 using reference number 20000513062. Alternatively any potential witnesses can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
