Police forensics at house in Wellingborough Road close to scene of Rushden murder

A 25-year-old woman died in Wellingborough Road, near St George’s Way, on Saturday at around 8.30pm after she was stabbed.
An address in Wellingborough Road within sight of the murder scene is currently being searched by police and forensics.

Hide AdPeople have been laying flowers at the scene, including a woman who used to do the school run with the victim, who reportedly had two young children.
The friend said: “Our daughters are in the same class.
”I found out yesterday afternoon, my partner saw it on Facebook.
”She was just always smiling and laughing and had such a good sense of humour and she was a brilliant mum. I felt I had to come up, we’ve only known each other for 18 months but we used to spend a lot of time together in the school holidays.
”It’s so sad.”
A resident close to the scene, Mr Pattamaea Kuttppa, 77, said he heard a big thud on Saturday night.

Hide AdMr Kuttppa said: “At first, I thought it was a car accident.
”I had just my shower, I came out then there was a big sound on the road.
”One car was just in front of this area,” he said gesturing to outside his home.
”The other one was on the other side of the road,” said Mr Kuttppa.
Another resident said one of the cars was on the pathway.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
