Police charge two men with rape of 18-year-old woman in Northampton

Detectives investigating the rape of an 18-year-old in Northampton last year have today (Thursday) charged two men.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said John Ross Cunningham, 28, of no fixed abode, and 37-year-old Dennis McGowan, of Mounts Court, in the town, have both been charged with rape in connection with the incident.

Cunningham has also been charged with the additional offence of conspiracy to rape in connection with the incident, the spokesperson said.

Both men will appear at Northampton Crown Court on Wednesday (September 2).
