Northamptonshire Police continues to tackle criminals in the north of the county having made a number of arrests for a variety of offences over the last few weeks.

North Northamptonshire's local policing commander, Superintendent Dennis Murray, said: "In the past two weeks, we’ve executed a total of 14 warrants in the north, seized large quantities of drugs, cash and weapons, and safeguarded a number of vulnerable people, including children.

The first of the arrests was on Monday, July 6, when a 38-year-old man was arrested in relation to domestic violence. Detectives worked into the night to gather evidence and secured four charges against the man, who has been remanded in custody.

Later that week, the burglary team charged Reece James Fuins, 22, from Kettering, with three burglaries and one fraud offence. Police also thwarted an illegal car meet in Wellingborough and found yet another cannabis factory when they executed a warrant in Gordon Road, Wellingborough.

The small set-up was immediately dismantled and destroyed.

The following week, on Monday, July 13, police carried out a stop and search on a man in Market Place, Kettering. He was found with 60 wraps of drugs and a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

The next day (Tuesday, July 14), a 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of burglary after a series of reports of two men knocking on the doors of elderly and vulnerable people in Corby and pretending to carry out work in the properties.

Later that same day, police stopped a blue Ford Fiesta was stopped on the A6 between Finedon and Irthlingborough and a large amount of cannabis was found, along with a knife.

Two men aged 22 and an 18-year-old were arrested on suspicion of possessing class B drugs with intent to supply and possession of a bladed article.

On Wednesday, July 15, police found crack cocaine and more than £2,000 in cash when they executed a warrant in Yarwell Court, Kettering. A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of cClass A drugs with intent to supply.

Supt Murray said: "We have absolutely no plans to slow down or take our foot off the gas and I want our communities to be reassured that we care about the issues that affect them and will continue to be relentless in our efforts to protect them, at the same time making Northamptonshire a hostile place for criminals."
