Pickpocket strikes in Kettering town centre

A Kettering pickpocket swiped a purse from his victim's coat after brushing past her.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft in High Street between 12.15pm and 12.30pm on Saturday (November 23).

The victim was walking near the British Heart Foundation shop when a man walked past her unnecessarily closely.

She then found that her purse had been taken from her coat pocket.

Cash, cards and souvenir Blackpool Tower and Dr Who coins were stolen.

A police spokesman said the suspect was a tall mixed race man wearing a green jacket and beige jumper.

The spokesman urged witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
