Pedestrian left with serious injuries after Kettering crash

A man has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Kettering this morning (Tuesday).

Police were called just before 8am to Northfield Avenue after the incident involving a red Ford Ka near Sports Direct.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to KGH with what a police spokesman described as "serious head injuries".

He has since been taken to University Hospital Coventry.

The spokesman added that they have since closed Northfield Avenue at the Rockingham Road end.

It is not yet known when roads will re-open and police urged people to avoid the area.
