Police arrested a 17-year-old boy after officers pursued a stolen black BMW 1 Series at around 2.50am yesterday (January 10).

The car, after being reported stolen, was located by police a short time later in Rockingham Road, Kettering where it failed to stop for officers.

Police then pursued the car into Burton Latimer where it eventually stopped in Spencer Street. The driver immediately decamped and fled from police.

The offender was found hiding in a wheelie bin in an attempt to evade police.

PD Boycie was then deployed and tracked the suspect to a wheelie bin, where he opted to hide inside in a failed attempt to evade police.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.

He has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
