Pair told to pay up for pinching booze from Tesco stores in Northampton, Daventry and Wellingborough

Two women have been sentenced after admitting their part in a shoplifting spree which netted £643 worth of booze from three Tesco supermarkets across Northamptonshire.

Lauren Gardner and Kelly Card both admitted being involved in a theft from the Tesco Extra store at Hunsbury, Northampton, on February 2, 2020 which netted £224.50 worth of alcohol and electronics.

Court documents showed they were also part of a group of four which stole drinks to the value of £234.50 from Wellingborough’s Tesco Extra on January 21.

Gardner, 36, also admitted being one of two involved in stealing alcohol worth £184 from Tesco Superstore in Daventry on February 9.

Northampton Magistrates fined Gardner, of West Priors Court, £320 and ordered to pay £245.01 in compensation at a hearing earlier this month.

Card, aged 33, of Woodside Way, Northampton, was fined £104 and ordered to pay £166.80 in compensation plus a £119 in prosecution costs and a surcharge to fund victim services.
