Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted burglary at a home in Athelstan Road, Kettering, on Christmas Day.

The attempted break-in took place sometime between 2.30pm and 6.20pm on Friday, December 25.

A spokesman for Northants Police said the front door window was broken and the door left ajar, but added: "As a result of additional security measures, no entry was gained."

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area between the stated times.

Anyone with information about the attempted burglary is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 20000681666 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
