An offender tried to force open the front door of a house in Wellingborough but failed to get in.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attempted residential burglary in Windsor Road in the town.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "Between 9.30pm and 9.50pm on Saturday, January 9, someone has attempted to force open the front door of the property using an implement to jemmy the lock.

"Fortunately no entry was gained, and nothing stolen."

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area between the stated times.

Police are also appealing for witnesses to another attempted burglary in Wellingborough on Thursday, January 7, as reported by the Northants Telegraph earlier today.
