Northamptonshire Police salute brave victim after voyeur admits filming teenage girl

Police saluted the courage of a teenage victim after a man spotted filming her admitted two charges of voyeurism.

Northampton Magistrates' Court heard that Thomas Craig Lewis. 35, was spotted by the teenage girl using his mobile phone to film her in Northampton.

Detectives later discovered that Lewis, whose address was given in court as Capel Road, Llanelli, had previously filmed the girl.

DC Andrea Taylor, of Northamptonshire Police, said: “This case has taken a long time to conclude and I would like to commend the victim for her resolve and courage during this time in seeing it through to the end.

“I hope the fact that Lewis has pleaded guilty to the offences offers her some comfort and allows her to move forward with her life.

“Lewis’ behaviour was very predatory — he completely violated this girl’s privacy and I am pleased that he has been convicted.

Lewis will appear at Crown Court for sentencing on October 16. Voyeurism offences carry a maximum two-year prison sentence.
