Northampton woman arrested after police recovered a kitchen knife from her car

A Northampton woman was arrested yesterday (January 22) after her car was stopped in Wellingborough and officers found her in the possession of a kitchen knife.

This incident took place at about 3pm when a black Peugeot 208 was stopped by officers on the A509 in Wellingborough.

Police searched the vehicle and located a kitchen knife in the centre console.

A 35-year-old Northampton woman was arrested and charged with possessing a knife in a public place in connection with the incident. She will appear in court for possession of a bladed article on a date to be announced.

Both the driver and the passenger were additionally fined for breaking lockdown rules because their journey was not essential.
