These are the faces of 17 county criminals who were jailed for serious offences across Northamptonshire and beyond, and whose often shocking stories this newspaper brought to you during the month of August 2025.

9. Casey Edwards
Edwards drove a Mercedes C200 at speeds of up to 130mph trying to escape a police pursuit from Kettering to Northampton on April 27, 2005. The 26-year-old drove through residential streets at up to 60mph, driving the wrong way round roundabouts and mounting a pavement before colliding with another vehicle in Rowtree Road causing minor injuries to the occupants. He was sentenced to 26 months and disqualified from driving for 31 months after he is released. Photo: Northamptonshire Police

10. William Daniel Woodcock
Woodcock was “significantly over” the drug-driving limit for cannabis and cocaine when he crashed his Volkswagen Golf at a Wellingborough roundabout in the early hours of February 12, 2025, leaving his 20-year-old passenger with a life-changing brain injury. The 20-year-old from Northampton was sentenced to two years, eight months and disqualified from driving for 11 years, four months after pleading guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving with no insurance and drug driving. 11. Desmond Hooper
Hooper and Stacey McMillan attacked a woman in a flat they all shared after a row over text messages on her phone. The 43-year-old, of Gladstone Street, Raunds, took the victim’s house keys, phone and money and became violent. The offences were uncovered after Hooper told the victim to lie to paramedics about a head injury sustained in a bottle attack by McMillan, 32. Hooper was sentenced to four years, four months while McMillan — who is serving four years for robbery — had ten months added to that sentence. Photo: Northamptonshire Police

12. Stuart Buckley

The 46-year-old was sentenced to a total of 21 months in prison and given a 12-year restraining order banning him from contacting the victim. Photo: Northamptonshire Police
