A banned drink-driver has been jailed for a second time in just 11 weeks after he was caught behind the wheel of a BMW in Northampton just days being freed.

Bogan Urlache, 36, initially lost his licence for a year on December 12 after refusing to take a breath test in Bridge Street.

He was stopped again driving an uninsured Mercedes van in the early hours of December 23 in Mare Fair and jailed for 16 weeks after blowing more than three times over the limit.

Police stopped Urlache behind the wheel on March 7 even though he was banned for four years in DecemberPolice stopped Urlache behind the wheel on March 7 even though he was banned for four years in December

He was also banned for 49 months. Yet police officers arrested Urlache yet again after picking him up driving a BMW around the town on March 7.

Magistrates sent Urlache to prison for 16 weeks, telling him: "You have a flagrant disregard for court orders."

Urlache, of Ivy Road, also admitted another offence of driving with no insurance in Kettering Road when he appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court last week (March 8).

He was also ordered to pay a £128 surcharge to fund victim services and £85 prosecution costs.

In England, offenders always complete their full sentence but usually half the time is spent in prison and the rest is spent on licence.
