A Kettering woman who made her neighbours' lives a misery by blaring loud music has had her speakers seized.

Police and council officers confiscated two large 'non-domestic' speakers, a mixing desk and a TV from the council property in Scott Road after magistrates granted a warrant.

The 45-year-old tenant, who has not been named, repeatedly breached a community protection notice by causing a 'significant nuisance', Kettering Council said.

John Conway, head of housing at Kettering Council, said: “Our tenants should be able to live in their homes in peace and quiet without inordinate disruption from their neighbours.

"Where there is clear evidence that this is not happening, we will not hesitate to take decisive action against the perpetrators of anti-social behaviour.”

The items will now be held pending a prosecution for the breach of the community protection notice and an application for the forfeiture of the seized items so that they may be disposed of.

The seizure is the latest by Kettering Council over loud music.

In 2019 a Kettering man went from Guitar Hero to zero after he was so noisy the council took his equipment away.
