Three people arrested over an alleged petrol bombing at a Travellers' site in Desborough have been released with no further action.

Armed police were called to the Spinney Close site in Braybrooke Road at 12.45am on May 13 after reports of an altercation with a caravan deliberately set on fire.

It was alleged that the caravan caught fire after a man threw a petrol bomb at it but nobody was injured in the incident.

A 44-year-old man from Desborough was quizzed on suspicion of attempted murder with a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman also arrested on suspicion of arson.

But no further action will be taken against the trio.

A police spokesman said: “Due to a lack of evidence and official witness accounts, the suspects in this case have been released with no further action.”
