Motorcycle damaged after two men attempted to rob it as it was being driven in Northampton

Two men damaged the motorcycle when the rider did not stop for them in the middle of the road

A motorcycle was damaged during an attempted robbery in Balfour Road, Northampton.

The attempted robbery took place between 9.30pm and 10pm on Friday, March 19 when two men stood in the road and ordered a passing motorcyclist to stop.

The driver did not stop so the motorcycle was struck with a metal object. The rider then continued on, despite the motorcycle being damaged, and turned onto Brockton Street.

The attempted robbery took place on Balfour Road in Northampton.

There is no description of the two men, except that they were wearing dark clothing.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "Anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information which could assist with the investigation is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting reference number: 21000155456 or, alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
