Men with 'local accents' chased from Burton Latimer street after foiled theft

A sharp-eared Burton Latimer resident foiled the theft from a car after they heard breaking glass and went to investigate.

The resident shouted and disturbed two offenders, who had smashed the rear window of a car parked in Hillary Close, Burton Latimer.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "Two offenders tried to steal items from a car after breaking the back window of the vehicle.

"The incident happened sometime between 9.15pm and 10pm yesterday (Thursday, December 10).

"They were disturbed by a nearby resident who heard the glass breaking and shouted at the offenders who ran off in the direction of Pioneer Avenue.

"The offenders wore dark coloured tracksuits and had local accents."
