The defendant was given eight penalty points on his licence for admitting crashing his Mercedes into the house, causing damage worth £3,025.

He then left the scene of the accident and failed to report it to a police officer within the statutory 24-hour period.

Biniek, 32, was found guilty when he failed to attend court earlier this year. He attended his sentencing hearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court last week and admitted the offences. His guilty plea was taken into account during sentencing.

He was also ordered to pay a fine of £350, a victim surcharge of £33 and £85 in costs.

An offence of driving without insurance was withdrawn.
