A 60-year-old man was verbally abused by a teenager yesterday (Monday, June 15) on Kettering High Street.

Northamptonshire Police said: "A 60-year-old man was called an offensive name by an 18-year-old man, wearing a dark tracksuit.

"As a result of the incident, the older man was left feeling alarmed and distressed. Officers believe the town centre would have been busy at the time of the incident, due to the reopening of non-essential shops."

The incident happened between 3.40pm and 3.50pm.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
