Man slashed across shoulder with 'something pointed' during attack in Northampton

A man in his 40ssuffered injuries to his shoulder after he was "slashed with something pointed" during an attack in Northampton over the weekend.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident that happened between 12.15am and 12.40am on Saturday, August 15.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "A man in his 40s was walking along Bailiff Street, close to its junction with Military Road.

"He heard someone behind him and as he turned to have a look, he saw a man holding something pointed. As the man turned to run, the offender slashed him across the shoulder, causing an injury and damage to his clothes. The man has then managed to run to safety," the spokesperson said.

The offender is described as white and in his 20s, 5ft 11in, and of a slim build, with a medium-length beard. He was wearing a long-sleeved top.
