Man reportedly stabbed in Desborough

A man was reportedly stabbed in Desborough this morning when two men assaulted him.

The incident happened at about 11am today (Friday, November 6).

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "At about 11.05am today, a man was chased by two males from the direction of Harrington Road, before being assaulted by the offenders in Addison Road.

"As a result of the incident, the man sustained an arm injury and was taken to by ambulance to University of Coventry Hospital."

A witness who saw the aftermath of the incident said the victim had been stabbed and had a large wound to his arm.

The anonymous witness said: "It was just one chap and two others and the two attacked him.

"There was ambulance, police and forensics, it was all roped off.

"The chap was quite badly hurt, it was a severe cut on his arm and the first responders were going to airlift him but then decided not to."

The witness said the blood on the pavement was washed away by residents. They said: "The blood was everywhere.

"Everyone's in a bit of shock around here."

Northamptonshire Police is appealing for witnesses and officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured the assault on either CCTV or dash cam.
