Police are appealing for witnesses after a elderly man sustained serious injuries after being hit by a bus in High Street, Wellingborough.

Police were called after a single decker bus turned from Oxford Street onto High Street and was in collision with a pedestrian at about 1.10pm yesterday (Wednesday)

As a result of the collision, the 87-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious leg injuries.

A spokesman for Northants Police said the man remains in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
