Man punches woman in Irthlingborough road rage incident

A woman was assaulted in a road rage incident near Irthlingborough on Sunday, September 27 after a man tried to cut in front of her.

The incident happened between 11.50pm and 12.10pm at the Chowns Mill roundabout near Irthlingborough when a man in a black Audi unsuccessfully tried to cut in front of another driver.

The offender then followed the 21-year-old driver, tailgating her as she continued along the A6. When she stopped at the roundabout at the junction with the B5348, the man pulled alongside her.

The man got out of his vehicle and grabbed the woman by her jacket and shook her several times before punching her a number of times on her arm.

He then got back into his car and drove off.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman described the man as white, in his 50s and of average build. He was wearing glasses, a flat cap and a dark coat.
