Man punches driver through their open car window in Northampton road attack

A driver was punched in the face through his open car window after he was undertaken by another driver in Northampton.

The attack took place at around 4.10pm on Wednesday, March 17 when a man was driving his silver Mercedes Benz westbound along St Peter's Way and he was undertaken by a grey Audi A3.

Both motorists then turned into Towcester Road then, as they approached traffic lights, the driver of the Audi pulled in front of the silver Mercedes and stopped. This forced the driver of the Mercedes to suddenly brake and stop too.

The Audi driver then get out of his car and, without saying anything, punched the male driver of the Mercedes through the open car window. The attacker then ran back to his car and drove off towards Sixfields.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s, five foot and 10 inches and of a medium build. He wore a long-sleeved Chelsea football shirt with a sleeveless orange high-vis jacket, grey jogging bottoms and a light blue or grey beanie hat with a white motif.

"Anyone who saw any of the incident or has relevant dash-cam footage or information about it is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting incident number: 21000151515."
