Man punched in Kettering park robbery

A man was punched by a robber as he sat on a bench in a Kettering park at night.

An investigation is under way after the incident at the park just off Grafton Street, which took place between 11.30pm on September 26 and 12.50am on September 27. Police launched an appeal today (October 5).

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was approached by two men and a woman as he sat on a park bench.

He was involved in a "verbal exchange" before one of the men punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. He was then assaulted again, police said.

A force spokesman said: "The male then stole the man’s small bag which contained prescribed medication, an Alcatel mobile phone and £30 in cash.

"The offender is described as white and spoke with a local accent.

"He was wearing all black clothing.
