The man knocked on a door and claimed he was from a gas company and needed to carry out a gas safety check and boiler service.

A woman, in her 20s, was not expecting a service and did not let the man into her home. She checked with her gas supplier who said they had not sent an engineer to her home.

Northamptonshire Police are investigating the incident as an attempted distraction burglary and believe the man pictured might have information that could help with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for him or anyone that may recognise him to get in touch by calling Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
