A man suffered a fractured eye socket after being attacked in Rockingham Road, Corby.

The incident happened between 2am and 2.55am on Sunday, August 9, when a 21-year-old man was walking along Rockingham Road, near to the junction with Pascal Close.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "He was approached by a man who threatened him and punched him in the face, causing him to stumble and fall over.

"The offender continued to assault the man on the ground.

"The offender ran off with another man after local residents came out of their homes to help the man being assaulted.

"As a result of the incident, the man sustained a fractured eye socket."

One of the men is described as being in his early 20s, with slicked-back hair which was in a quiff style.

He was wearing a white polo shirt, denim shorts and dress shoes.

The second man was about 6ft, of a slim build and was wearing a grey tracksuit, rain jacket, grey bottoms and high top trainers.
