A man wearing a surgical face mask followed a 16-year-old girl before touching himself.

Police are appealing for information after the incident, which they are treating as indecent exposure, in Shetland Way on Friday night (January 15.

Between 7.40pm and 8pm a 16-year-old girl walked from Welland Vale Shops along Shetland Way, when she saw a man on the opposite side of the road.

As she continued to walk along Shetland Way, she looked back several times and the man was following her.

As she approached Lodge Park Academy she looked back again, and this time the man appeared to be touching himself inside his jogging bottoms.

A police spokesman said: "The man ran off towards Pytchley Court shops.

"He is described as white and in his late 20s, 6ft and of a large build.

"He was wearing a blue surgical face mask, dark baggy hooded jumper with the hood up and dark baggy jogging bottoms."
