Man arrested after serious crash near Mawsley

A man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a serious crash near Mawsley on Saturday (June 26).

Emergency services were called at about 8.40am after the incident, which involved a grey BMW M240i and a silver Seat Leon, on the road off the A43 towards Mawsley.

The Seat, which was travelling towards Mawsley along the road from the A43, left the carriageway and landed in a ditch after taking action to avoid a BMW which was overtaking other vehicles while travelling towards the A43.

A man in the Seat was taken to Kettering General Hospital for treatment for serious injuries but a police spokesman said they are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening..

A woman in the Seat also suffered facial injuries.

A 24-year-old Mawsley man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
