Polish national Patryk Gowarzewski, 31, will make his first court appearance in Northampton to answer the charge relating to a crash that he is accused of causing on the A43.

Mum-of-two Sylvia Best, 85, was a passenger in a blue Hyundai that was involved in a collision with a white Citroen Relay van driven by Gowarzewski at Broughton, just south of Kettering on January 30, 2019.

She was airlifted to hospital in Coventry but died on February 1 last year. Her funeral was held at the church she attended, St John The Baptist in Corby Old Village.
