London teen suspected of £4,500 Corby courier fraud conspiracy to appear before court today

A 19-year-old London man will appear before magistrates today (Thursday, June 17) charged with trying to fraudulently steal £4,500 from an elderly Corby woman.

Abdul Ha-Meem is accused of being part of a group who phoned the woman pretending to be a police officer before persuading her to part with the cash as part of a secret investigation.

He was arrested at the scene and is charged with conspiracy to remove criminal property, with conspiring to commit fraud by false representation, and with acquiring criminal property.

Ha-Meem, of Clare Gardens, Barking, will appear before magistrates in Northampton this morning.
