A thug who knocked a man unconscious in a brutal Kettering assault is wanted after he failed to turn up to his sentencing hearing.

Robbie Kennedy, 31, was due to hear his fate at Northampton Crown Court today (Thursday) after admitting charges of causing grievous bodily harm without intent and common assault.

The charges came after an incident at about 7.10pm on June 20 last year in Cedar Road, Kettering, when two men were approached by Kennedy who appeared intoxicated.

Kennedy, of no fixed address, started shouting at them before punching the pair, causing one to lose consciousness.

Causing grievous bodily harm without intent carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison and Kennedy's case was listed for 12.30pm this afternoon.

But he did not turn up and His Honour Judge Rupert Mayo issued a warrant for his arrest, not backed for bail.

Anyone who knows where Kennedy is should call police on 101.
