Kettering stalker tried to persuade victim to drop charges

A man who stalked his former partner for six months has been jailed.

Roman Karolcik, 42, refused to leave his former partner alone, even after a court ordered him to do so.

Back in May, Karolcik was convicted at magistrates’ court of two assaults on his former partner and another male victim that happened in October 2025. He was given a community order including an alcohol abstinence requirement as well as unpaid work. He was also issued with a restraining order banning him from contacting his victim.

But Karolcik, of Canon Street, Kettering, ignored the court order.

On the same day, he contacted his former partner in breach of the order. He asked her to drop the charges against him. He was further charged with stalking her between December 2025, and May 2026, after he repeatedly called her and turned up at her door. He also smashed her Ring doorbell.

He was further charged with stalking, harassment, criminal damage and intimidating a witness.

He pleaded guilty to all the charges and appeared at Northampton Crown Court at the end of September for sentence.

Karolcik was given 31 months and two weeks in prison by Recorder Jennifer Jones.

He was also given a ten-year restraining order banning him from contacting the victim or of going to any address at which he knows her to be.
