Kettering stabbing victim "stable"

A man stabbed on a Kettering estate is in a stable condition, police have said.

There was a large police presence on the Highfield estate last night (Friday) after the victim, who is in his 40s, was attacked in Fishton Close at about 6.20pm.

He was taken to hospital for what a police spokesman described as serious injuries and today the spokesman said his condition was stable.

A man in his late 30s, believed to be known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of assault.

The spokesman for the force said he remains arrested today and that nobody has yet been charged in connection with the incident.

Last night officers were standing guard with a grassed area between Highfield Road and Fishton Close taped off.
