Kettering Sea Cadets are appealing for help after vandals damaged their minibus and boats.

The offenders climbed over a fence into the car park before throwing bricks at the mini bus, which smashed the windscreen.

A number of boats were also damaged and eight plastic barriers were vandalised, costing £300.

Appealing on Facebook for help, Marc Pether said: "I am sure everyone can appreciate we are trying to get the young people active and engaged again after being in lockdown and this will now set us back.

"We don’t have the funds to be able to spend on this type of repairs as we wanted to be able to offer some more training."

Angela Edward, a volunteer at Kettering Sea Cadets, has started a Go Fund Me page to raise money to cover the costs of the damage.

She said the centre caters for around 35 cadets and the minibus is vital for transporting cadets to courses.

Angela said: "Any donation, however big or small would be gratefully received."

You can find the Go Fund Me page here.

Police officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area between the stated times.
