Kettering man dies after minibus crash

A Kettering grandfather has died after a minibus crash which left 18 people in hospital.

Richard Kenworthy, 72 and of Judith Road, was a passenger in a white Mercedes minibus which was involved in a collision with a black Volkswagen Golf on the B1040 Somersham Road near Bluntisham in Cambridgeshire at about 4.50pm on November 14.

He died in hospital last Friday (December 13) as a result of injuries.

His daughter Emma Montague said: “Richard was a loving father, grandfather and husband, with a zest for life which lived to the full.

Richard is the third minibus passenger to die after the crash, which saw 18 people between the age of 60 and 80 taken to hospital.

Margaret Henwood, 85 and of Foxlease Road in Bedford, died at the scene .

Barbara McGruer, 86, and of Trent Road, Bedford, died on November 16.

Two women remain in hospital in a serious condition.
