A man from Kettering has been charged with firearm offences after an incident on Saturday.

Barry David Toghill, 34, of Carrington Street, Kettering, has been charged with possession of a firearm and possession of an imitation firearm.

It follows an incident on Saturday, August 22, when a white Seat Ibiza failed to stop for police and subsequently crashed into roadside furniture on Silver Street, Kettering.

Police officers searched the car and found a handgun.

Toghill has been remanded in custody and will appear at Northampton Crown Court on Wednesday, September 30.
