Kettering cookie thief had knife

Ronnie Redmond, 45, admitted theft and possession of a bladed article after the incident on May 9 this year.

Earlier this month Northampton Magistrates' Court heard Redmond, of Hodge Way, visited the Tesco Express in London Road.

He then stole cookies worth £1.10 before being caught with the blade.

Magistrates handed him a community order with rehabilitation requirements.

He must also pay £85 towards victim services and the knife will be destroyed.
