Investigation under way after 999 police crash near Kettering

An investigation is under way after a police car on a blue light run was involved in a crash at the weekend.

A section of the A43 on the edge of Kettering was closed for several hours after the incident near the force's Northern Accommodation Building base on Saturday (February 20).

Officers were responding to a 999 call at about 2pm when they were involved in a crash with a silver Vauxhall Zafira.

Fire crews were called to the scene and had to release one person from the police car after cutting the vehicle's roof off.

Thankfully nobody involved was seriously hurt.

A police spokesman said: “On Saturday, February 20, at about 2pm, a collision between a police vehicle and a silver Vauxhall Zafira occurred on the A43 in Kettering.

“Thankfully, no serious injuries were sustained as a result of the collision and an investigation into the incident is in progress.”
