Investigation launched into late night alleyway assault in Kettering

Forensics officers were on the scene to conduct a search this afternoon

Officers from Northamptonshire Police including forensics and scenes of crime officers have attended the site of an assualt in a Kettering alleyway this afternoon (Sunday, August 23).

Police had cordoned off the path leading between Windmill Avenue and Ise Road as officers conducted a finger-tip search.

The team who were wearing protective masks and white forensics overalls took away samples in evidence bags.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called at about 2.30am this morning (Sunday, August 23) to reports of an assault in Windmill Avenue, Kettering.

"Officers have been in the area during the day as part of the investigation which is now underway.

“Anyone who was in the Windmill Avenue or Ise Road area in the early hours of this morning and may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 082 of 23/08/20.”
