Police were called after four illegal immigrants were found in the cab of a lorry on a Wellingborough industrial estate.

One eyewitness said there were three police cars and two vans outside Yusen Logistics on the Park Farm South industrial estate following the discovery yesterday (Monday).

A spokesman for Northants Police said today (Tuesday): "We received a call at 5.45pm yesterday from a driver who had found four men in his cab.

"All four were referred to immigration as entering the UK illegally."

These pictures taken by Glenn Teale show the large police presence on the industrial estate following the discovery of the men in the lorry cab.

A spokesman for the Home Office said: "Immigration Enforcement was contacted by Northamptonshire Police at 6.20pm on Monday (June 29) after they attended an incident on Sywell Road, Wellingborough.

"Police officers encountered four males who presented themselves as Eritrean nationals.

"They were interviewed by immigration officers and their cases will be dealt with according to the immigration rules."
