Group of shoplifters assault Kettering Food Warehouse staff

A member of staff at The Food Warehouse in Kettering was hit in the face by a water bottle thrown by a shoplifter.

The bottle was thrown by a woman who was part of a group of five who were seen concealing items in their bags.

The incident happened between 5.30pm and 5.45pm on Monday, November 9 at the Northfield Avenue store.

The five women entered the shop and started concealing the items. When challenged, the group left The Food Warehouse without attempting to pay.

A member of staff followed the group and challenged the women again, which is when the water bottle was thrown and hit the staff member in the face.

The group left in a red vehicle. A Northamptonshire Police spokesman described the women as white and said four were aged between 40 and 50, while the fifth woman was in her early 20s.

Officers investigating the incident believe the woman pictured may be able to assist with their enquiries and are appealing for her or anyone who recognises her to get in touch.
