A man who was using a Wellingborough town centre ATM had a glass thrown at him after being abused by two women.

Police investigating the Market Street assault, which took place just minutes after the Euro 2020 final had finished, have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The man was at the cash machine on Sunday, July 11, when he was approached from behind by two women between 11pm and 11.20pm.

They became verbally abusive towards him before one threw a drinking glass at him.

A police spokesman said: "One of the suspects was a white woman, in her late 20s to early 30s, about 5ft 7in, of a slim build, with blonde hair in a ponytail wearing grey jogging bottoms and a dark grey crop top.

"The second suspect was a white woman, in her mid to late 20s, about 5ft 4in, of a slim to medium build, with dyed red hair with a fringe and wearing a red top."
