Former Wellingborough snooker hall goes up in flames

Fire crews were called to tackle a huge fire at a former snooker hall in Wellingborough tonight (Sunday).

The blaze took hold of the old Embassy snooker club in Chequers Lane, near Cambridge Street, just after 9pm.

Northants Fire currently has seven pumps at the scene of the abandoned single-storey building.

Huge flames could be seen across Wellingborough and smoke was visible in Finedon.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and residents in nearby properties have been evacuated.
